Dear Friends and Acquaintances,
The IRS Office in San Jose has undertaken a campaign to audit sex workers. Their agents are investigating people all over the greater Bay Area. They appear to be selecting people based on their Internet advertising.
So, it's imperative that you get your taxes in order. Even if you have not been in compliance in the past, now is the time to correct any mistakes. It's always better to have taken steps to fix a problem on your own initiative, rather than wait until the government is rubbing your nose in it.
For help in untangling your financial affairs, I recommend Peter Buchanan, a very experienced tax attorney. (A tax attorney combines the functions of a lawyer and an accountant; and your conversations with him are protected by the attorney/client privilege.) I've referred quite a few of my sex worker clients to him, and they've reported that he's done great work and that he was also very polite and respectful. Peter's been in practice for over forty years and has represented a great many famous and interesting people, so you'll be in good company.
Naturally, it's no fun to do your taxes, especially if your bookkeeping's been a bit lax. But think of the relief you'll feel when you're all done, serene in the knowledge that you can look an IRS agent in the eye and say, "Make my day."
