I got a phone call with an advertiser on the US list this afternoon.
She reported that she answered an offer to be represented on a website, hoping she was going to make more money than on her own.
The owner of the website/booking agency said that he books the girls for $600 an hour, and the split is 50-50.
The deposit she had to pay to be booked was $300 and she decided to buy some more advertising directly to her ad on that site, in addition to the ads the website/booking agency was running.
She wanted to avoid using her phone number... so she used the phone number of the agency.
She found out that the agency had bought 7,000 dollars worth of advertising on stolen credit cards, and they probably have no legitimate business whatsoever.

Someone in Central Florida fell for it, went to cash the check, and it was a forged check. She is now under federal investigation for fraud and can't work. Please, if anyone emails you for 5 hours, or a funky arrangement, please ignore the whole thing, do not get hungry, do not think about the money, it is not real and you'll either work for free or get in trouble like that lady in Florida.

Nice of you to share this with people. It is also called the Nigerian money order scam. Sometimes the email comes for the UK and the person is trying to buy a product but makes up some excuse that they must send a money order for over the amount and asks the excess be mailed to them somewhere.
This type of scam has been going on for a long while. The money orders are primarily Western Union and look real. I got one around the first part of this year and had even told the person if they sent me a money order even for the exact amount .. I pretty much thought it was a scam and told them I would need to take it to my bank and have it cleared before I would accept the appointment which can take 30 days or so. If it was fake they would be wasting their time and they sent it anyway and, of course it was fake. This was before I was aware that this NIgerian money order scam was so common. After it didn't clear I did a google search and read many different stories. You can tell your bank to hold a check of any kind and not deposit until it has cleared completely. I wasn't under any type of investigation for seeing if it was real. Maybe that depends on if you try to take it to a quick check cashing place. Too late for this email.... I got this like 3 months ago to set something up for the 17th of this month (December) He said he would send me 1500 for 5 hrs and tell me when it was sent... I got the check and he emailed saying it was more than what it was and his friend sent 3500 by accident to hold on to the remainder till he seen me... The check wasn't 1500 nor was it 3500 it was 5500 and i put it into an account and the bank said it cleared and when I had already spent half of it the bank said it bounced... The lady at that bank lost her job and each day the amount we owe the bank goes up... This guy was in London and his friend that sent it was in Florida.... There is more to this story but I'm sure you get the point.... I hope this doesn't happen to anyone ... My check cleared and sat there for 5 days till I touched it and still a week later was bad... Thanks for the warning, so far, I've received about five of these. They use different names but all say that they are going to have client send you a check.
The scam is that the checks are faked, the guy who's going to send it is overseas. He's going to send you a check for 2500 to 5000 more than your donation. You're supposed to cash the check and send the extra to him so that he can buy his ticket to come see you. Obviously, if you send money, he's through with you, and you've got to deal with the bogus check.
Three other scams that are hot these days are the account verification -I've gotten them with logos for SunTrust, SmithBarney, Washington Mutual, CitiBank and a few others. The first tip off is that I don't have accounts with any of those. If you fall for it and click the e-mail link, two windows open, the full browser has the real company but the small window is to a funky IP address. I've checked them and the IP's have been for Texas, Brazil and even Gibraltar. If you supply the info, they wipe out your accounts.
The international lottos: you're a winner based on your e-mail address; Bill Gates is trying to give away some of his money. All you have to do is send them your banking info and they do the rest. Once again, your banking accounts are emptied.
The last one is where someone from Africa or the Philippines writes and asks for you to help them take out millions of dollars that were left on deposit after someone died and you get to be their foreign friend to help retrieve the money. All they need is your banking info and they will do the rest... Guess who's account has the withdrawal?
Sophie, please let everyone know about these scams. We work hard and have enough risks without falling for these cons. On that fraud check in Florida....I learned a long time ago, that when a opportunity sounds too good to be true....it usually is.
I had a guy offer me the same thing, but when I ran a check on the address, the return address was a fraud, ( I even mailed it back to him and it came back to me undeliverable) so I figured the check was a fraud and as it turns out, after holding the check until the arrival date of the guy and since he had no phone number to contact him - I figured he was a fraud and just ripped up the check and threw it away. After the arrival date passed, he did't call no more, no phone number, fraudulent address and trying to get me to wire him money and gave me a sad sob story of his little girl needing surgery, dieing in the hospital .... he was full of bull shit....I know better than to trust someone like that. I guess he thought I must have looked dumb, but fortunately, I'm smarter than that, (I have a back ground working with the Dept of revenue for florida) and if he could have been raced, I would had had him arested, but he's not traceable and couldn't be done. Girls need to get legitamate phone numbers, work addresses, etc to be sure they know who they are getting money from.
One touring girl in Boston, from Atlanta, got counterfit money from a guy and she gave the money to the feds in Boston and told them who he was and hopefully by now he has been caught. She even turned in a beer bottle with his fingerprints on it....··

I applied to this company the weekend of June 13 2003 as a model but was hired as supposed Executive Vice President first at a salary of $300,000 plus benefits and then changed the following Monday to $450,000. With the promise that my contract would be signed and notarized by the following weekend of which I traveled yet again to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to meet with him, this being June 20-22, 2003. Each employee and applicant present for the weekend left with a check, personal check from the name of John Michael Liberto. Once home, this past Monday, I called the local bank on the check to find out that the account had been closed. Since this past Monday it has been found out that the young man who stayed in the hotel room with this John Michael Liberto has had well over $2,000 in credit card fraud that he has had to deal with. Another found out that a credit card had been issued in a different name at the same address listed on the bad checks but using his social security number and credit information to obtain the credit card. The sums of the checks that were written this past weekend were as follows: $95 to someone in LA, $2,500 to someone in Phoenix, 20,000 to someone in Phoenix, 150,000 to someone in Miami and there are others from previous weekends, all of which are no good. Be forwarned... As a result of PayPal's recent change in policy, Paypal is cracking down on adult websites for accepting credit card payments through their site.
A simple way to prevent that from happening: ******Remove your website URL from your business listing information in your PayPal Account
Steps:
l. log into your Pay Pal account
2. Click: Profile
3. Click: Business Information
4. Remove website address in the "Business URL" field.
5. Click: Save
Done. Sigh... Relief.
It may also be a good idea to remove the webpayment buttons from your site. Just let your clients know that they can pay you through a certain email address through Paypal.
That's it. You are 100% safer... though not completely immune from the effects of this policy change.
By doing so, PayPal will not be able to easily trace and categorize your site as an adult site. Don't waste any more time because if you have money sitting in your PayPal account, PayPal will first close your account and hold it for 180 days before releasing it to you. ******This did not happened to me, but Lovely Simone* knows of 9 other providers and escort directories that it has happened to. The person answering the phones in which ever area (state, city) knows that if you get a local call put the charges through but if you get an out of area call get credit card info and send it to him and he sometimes puts the charges through right away and sometimes he will sit on it for a month and then run it through. The catch is when he runs it through it is going in under a different company name not the escort business name at an off shore account. I have this person emailing me. I politely asked to be removed
from their mailing list. Usually when I ask a mailer to remove
me they respond and say no problem or just remove me.
this one weird though.. I thought why would you be offering me

I wanted to make you aware that the above advertiser on
your site (email address terrimoore135@aol.com)
required a "deposit" from me as I was a first timer
with her. She gives very specific instructions not
to contact her by phone but by email only and asked
that I wire transfer her the deposit.
Her instructions here were to use cash only
and to include a test question (test question -
Favorite color? ans. red). This is apparently
used when the receiver does not provide
identification. After confirming the
transfer of the deposit I advised Ms. Moore
that the transaction was complete and provided
her the necessary information (which is essentially
a transaction # that is given at the time of the transfer).
We then made arrangements to meet at my place
the following Saturday(7/17/04) - no call, no show.
I subsequently received an email later that evening
where she informed me that because of car trouble she
was unable to make it. We corresponded several more
times from that point where she advised that when her
car issues were rectified we could reschedule. At
this point no meeting has been scheduled and Ms.
Moore has not been in contact with me since via
email or otherwise since 7/19/04 and she also has
not responded to any of my follow up emails since.
While it is clear that you or your web site bear no
responsibility in the action of advertisers that
appear on your site, you are aware that this type
of activity is harmful to all involved. So I
simply ask that at a minimum if you could contact
Ms. Moore and make her aware of the complaint
against her and encourage her to rectify the
matter as quickly as
possible that would be greatly appreciated.
