I just got off the phone with a would-be-client, an agency in Massachusetts.

She asked about all my advertising packages… I put together a nifty one for her for $160 every 3 months.

Then we talked about this, and talked about that… and I found out that she has next to no money to advertise.

My recommendation: when you are short on cash: start small and spend only the money you made.

I would even say: start free. But if you don’t have a website that YOU can manage, where you can set up reciprocal links… forget about it.

Also: if you are not willing to track your advertising, not willing to click once a day on all your links on your links page… forget about it.

Free advertising only works if YOU do some work. Because: you get what you pay for. Some people pay with their money, some people pay with their work.

If you don’t pay with either, your results are going to be dismal or nil.

Be ready to pay. And know what your assets are: your time, your money, your knowledge, your traffic, your email list… But you must have some assets to do any business.
