Hotmail, like yahoo, has a filter that is … eh… filter-happy. Which means, a lot of your email goes directly to your junk folder, or if you have a setting of deleting what hotmail deems as junk… to the blue sky… not even your trash folder.

I opened an account just to be able to tell you what to do.

Step 1. I am using the classic version… if you are in the new version, you can switch back and forth… so switch to classic. If I am wrong, please make a comment at the end of this post.

Be in your mail area, and find the options link and click it:

In the options area, select hotmail safe and blocked senders

click on safe senders

copy and paste or type email address into box

click the add-to-list button and make sure email address moves into the safe senders and domains box

click the safe and blocked senders link to go back

Now select Safe-mailing-lists

copy/paste the email, click the add button and make sure the email moves to the safe senders and domain box.

You are done.
