The story of Eliot Spitzer’s resignation and this whole presidential election scam (scum?) is the topic of this post.
You see, one needs a certain distance from things to see things differently from the vast majority, from the masses.
I don’t listen to the radio, don’t watch television, don’t buy/don’t read newspapers.
So, for the most part, I absorb what’s going on almost on a subconscious level.
From what I know, the presidential elections have changed, arguably to the worse, and we are seeing the beginnings of why this new system can’t work.
If I understand correctly, New York State Governor, Eliot Spitzer, was chosen to be a super elector, which means that his vote counts more than other electors. (pardon me if I make up new words… I still refuse to read the news
Spitzer is a democrat, Spitzer is a hard nose, Spitzer, of all people, if eliminated, will change the elections.
If enough dirt is smeared on enough democrats, the republicans can continue duping the masses, draining this country, and can continue to “lead” this country. Makes sense? Makes sense to me…
By the way, if it were the other way around, I would say the same things, I am not for the democrats… their politics has some things unattractive for me too, so I am not taking sides here. I am just trying to convey the glimpse I gleaned in a split second yesterday when I read a blog post… saying “poor Hilary…”
I tell you, I wanted to write this post about the unfortunate circumstance that I am writing for escorts, and an escort service was involved, and all night, while I was trying to go to sleep, I was trying to be with this fact that we, the collective we, our industry, have destroyed this guy’s career.
And the moment the sun came out, I suddenly had a revelation: there could be an escort soliciting every corner, and there would be people who say no. And what is the difference between them and the governor? That the ones that say no exercise personal responsibility.
Personal responsibility is the exercised capacity to know that the Universal Law, Cause and Effect, doesn’t have favorites, doesn’t make exceptions, and if you do something, you either pay for the consequences, or the consequences “pay” you.
If you are in the public eye, if you are a super elector, if you are being watched, hey… please, for God’s sake, lay off the philandering, and don’t do anything that — if you get caught — will cause yourself trouble, will cause your party trouble… don’t be a dumb sh—t.
But then again, the deeper layers of this story is how creating super electors, we create easier targets to shoot down, so the more “diligent” party in throwing dirt will win.
And the even deeper layer of this story is, how we are taught to look at what’s wrong with people, and never: what’s right with people, and a whole country now deeply believes that way… but here is a little secret: intrinsically there is no difference between someone who goes to an escort, or someone who waves the bible. Intrinsically we are all the same. The part of us, the part that wasn’t born when we were born, and won’t die when we die, is pristine, innocent, and magnificent. The part of us that is God.
Whether it is President Bush, or ex Governor, Eliot Spitzer. Or you, or me.
Now, that, unfortunately, doesn’t mean that we could all lead a big country like this to prosperity, peace, happiness, and the planet to recovery… not in the least, not in the least. ![]()

I wanted to make a comment on the Elliot Spitzer matter: the agency he used “Emperor’s Club” did not do anything wrong. Spitzer DID. The agency fulfilled its end of the agreement. They accepted payment and discreetly handled the transaction and sent him the girl he wanted. He even said “Excellent. Wonderful” after hearing her description and that she was on her way. He paid $4,300 not only for the quality of the escort, but for the agency’s AND the girl’s top discretion and reliability. The agency was in no way responsible for bringing down Spitzer - it was his own arrogant actions and disregard for his high public profile that brought him down.
Furthermore, HE was the one who was married and had publically declared his love and legally made his commitment to his wife Silda. He broke that faith and betrayed his wife. Ashley/Kristen kept her word and fulfilled her commitments and obligations to her agency and to her client Mr. Spitzer. I see her as being FAR more honest and respectable than I view Mr. Spitzer.
Next time I hear some HYPOCRITE say something condescending about prostitutes I will immediately suspect that, like Mr. Spitzer, it is the “pot calling the kettle black” and the one casting the stones is themself a patron of escort agencies!!!
Furthermore, what is the difference between a woman who clearly stated and honestly enters into a contractural agreeement to have sex for money . . . and a gold digger who marries a man for money. Have you watched “Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire?” or “Millionaire Matchmaker” . . . . I have far more respect for an honest escort than I do for a gold digging whore who marries a man for his money and then divorces him and takes him to the cleaners to get every cent she can. And how many women have sex with a guy just because he had bought her dinner? So I say the Spitzer incident was a good thing because it should jump start us to ALL start rallying to DECRIMINALIZE SEX WORK.
SEX WORKERS ARE HONEST WOMEN!
I agree with you Kathryn.
For many years, every time I heard “legalize prostitution” I shrugged my shoulder. It didn’t concern me, either here or there.
Suddenly with this high profile case, I am on your side, and I apologize for my lack of support for all those years.
Sophie
I agree with both of you. There is a great discrepancy in what is considered “right” and “wrong”!
