I just hung up with an obviously upset man. He got my phone number from his bank statement. He wanted to find out what the charge was for.
You can imagine my discomfort and my dilemma. I have a business to protect, I have the advertiser to protect.
From the date of the charge and from the last 4 digits on the debit card I found the advertiser. She had been using that card for about a year.
I don’t know if it is her card or his. I don’t know. I only know that if you have any sense, you won’t use a card that
a. doesn’t belong to you,
b. that anyone has access to the card statements.
Most arrests come as a result of a complaint against the provider.
This guy, upset as he was, is a threat to the provider’s safety.
Do yourself a favor and find other ways to pay for your ad. You can get an epassporte account (or I can get you one), or some prepaid cc…
Don’t be foolish. Today a friend, tomorrow mortal enemy. There are no friends in this industry. Only potential enemies.
